Applying for an exemption from the obligation to pay national insurance contributions if you are in receipt of a foreign benefit or benefit from an international organisation

If you live in the Netherlands, you must pay social security contributions under the national insurance schemes, such as those under the Old Age Pensions Act (AOW) and the General Surviving Dependants Act (ANW). In some cases, you may be exempt from the obligation to pay social security contributions, for example if you work for an international organisation, such as NATO or the European Union. If this is the case, you are not obliged to pay national insurance contributions.
