Applying for a certificate of professional competence (occupational health and safety certificate)
Some dangerous professions and activities require you to be in possession of a certificate, for example if you work as a crane operator or diver, or if you work with asbestos or fireworks. This certificate proves that you have the correct knowledge and skills.

Criteria for the certificate
Please consult Arboportaal.nl for an overview of the activities that require a certificate (in Dutch). It also provides information regarding the conditions you need to meet in order to obtain a certificate, such as passing an exam.
Applying for a certificate
You can apply for the certificate from any organisation designated by the Netherlands Labour Authority. Such an organisation is called a conformity assessment body. The website of the Netherlands Labour Authority has a list of conformity assessment bodies (in Dutch).
