This General Country of Origin Information Report describes the situation in Syria up to the start of the large-scale ground offensive on 27 November 2024. This offensive led to the departure of President Bashar al-Assad (hereinafter: Assad) from Syria. It is an update of the General Country of Origin Information Report from August 2023.1 The reporting period is from 1 August 2023 to 27 November 2024.
