With this national roadmap, the Dutch central government aims to provide direction and clarity to consumers, businesses, grid operators, government authorities and other partners. The Netherlands intends to remain a European leader in charging infrastructure by positioning itself as one of the frontrunning countries to successfully introduce commercial bidirectional solutions. The ultimate aim is for everyone who buys a new car from 2035 onwards to have the option of bidirectional charging – at home, at work and on the street. To achieve this, this roadmap describes two phases of upscaling and presents a National Action Agenda for bidirectional charging.
