General Country of Origin Information Report on Syria (January 2026)

This general Country of Origin Information Report describes the situation in Syria insofar as it is relevant to the assessment of asylum applications from persons originating from that country and to decision-making on the return of rejected Syrian asylum seekers. It is an update of the General Country of Origin Information Report of May 2025.1 The reporting period runs from May 2025 to December 2025.
