‘In the years ahead, I’m going to tackle the major issues of housing and spatial planning. Too many people don’t have the certainty of a comfortable, affordable home. My first task is to ensure that we build plenty of housing. The second is to ensure that there is enough room in this tiny part of the world for the things that we value: room to live in, room for nature, room to earn a living, and room for our farmers and for our energy supply. To do this, we’ll have to make sensible choices.’
