If you disagree with the result of the periodic technical inspection of your vehicle (algemene periodieke keuring, APK), you can lodge an objection.

Objecting to your vehicle failing the inspection

You must object to the failure immediately after the inspection by contacting the Netherlands Vehicle Authority (RDW). An RDW staff member will then visit the garage to assess whether the failure was justified.

Objecting to your vehicle passing the inspection

If you suspect that your vehicle should not have passed the inspection, you can lodge an objection within one year. You can submit your objection in writing to the RDW.
