Requesting a noise certification document for an amateur aircraft

Do you fly an amateur aircraft? If so, you must have a geluidsdocument (noise certification document) on board. The document states how much noise your aircraft makes. The more noise it makes, the higher the fees that airports can charge. You can apply for a noise certification document from the Inspectie Leefomgeving en Transport – ILT (Human Environment and Transport Inspectorate).

Types of noise certification document

You need a noise certification document when registering your amateur aircraft. There are different types of noise certification document: geluidscertificaat (noise certificate), geluidsverklaring (noise statement) and a niet van toepassingsverklaring (statement of non-applicability).

Noise certificate

On-board document showing that the noise made by the aircraft is in line with the noise requirements for that aircraft.

Noise statement

On-board document showing that no noise requirements apply to the aircraft or that the noise level has been determined in a manner other than in line with the requirements.

Statement of non-applicability

This is a noise certification document that does not have a tariff or noise value(s). In this case, no noise requirements apply to the aircraft.
