Dutch companies in the defence and security industry wishing to export their products can receive support from the government, for example in the form of trade missions and fairs.
Trade missions are organised for companies seeking to do business abroad. Companies can meet potential business partners during a mission, with the government providing advice or even entering into talks with the country concerned. The Commissariat for Military Production (CMP) supports Dutch companies in the defence and security industry during trade missions together with the Ministry of Defence and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Trade fairs for the defence and security industry
You can also meet potential business partners at specialised trade fairs. The government supports several of these fairs by providing a Holland Hospitality Lounge in cooperation with the Netherlands Defence and Security Industries Foundation (NIDV) and the Netherlands Aerospace Group (NAG). Trade fairs supported by the government in 2020 include:
- Eurosatory, France 8-12 June 2020
- Farnborough Airshow, United Kingdom 20-24 July 2020
- DSA, Malaysia 24-27 August 2020
- Euronaval, France 20- 23 October 2020
As well as supporting trade fairs, the government organises trade missions. Some are headed by a representative of the Ministry of Defence specially appointed to promote exports.
