Honour-based violence

This main section contains 4 sections:

Honour-based violence is mental or physical violence committed to restore the honour of the family. For example, threatening or assaulting a girl for resisting forced marriage. The most extreme form of honour-based violence is honour killing. The Dutch government is taking steps to prevent honour-based violence, for example by training social workers to recognise it and by identifying and prosecuting those who commit this type of violence.
