Viewing, amending or deleting personal data held by the UWV

Do you want to view, amend or delete your name, address or other personal data held by the Uitvoeringsinstituut Werknemersverzekeringen – UWV (Employee Insurance Agency)? There are several ways to do this. It can be done online, by telephone, via chat or by letter.

Contacting the UWV

You can contact the UWV in the following ways:

Online

You can contact the UWV online via Mijn UWV (in Dutch). You can have your data amended or deleted online using the Verzoek persoonsgegevens online form.

You can contact the UWV in various ways through Mijn UWV

by sending an online message;
by using the online chat function. Are you deaf or hard of hearing? If so, you can also use the online chat function (in Dutch).

You can also contact a UWV customer service representative by sending an online message in your Werkmap (in Dutch) on the werk.nl website.

By telephone

You can contact the UWV on 088 898 92 94. Are you calling from outside the Netherlands? If so, you can contact the UWV on +31 88 898 20 01.

By letter

On the UWV website, you can find addresses for information on various subjects (in Dutch). You can send a letter to the UWV at the following address to:

Your letter to the UWV must state the following:

which data you want to view or amend;
the period to which your request relates;
your last name;
the initials of your first name;
your address;
your telephone number;
your Burgerservicenummer – BSN (citizen service number);
the date of your letter;
your signature.

Send your letter to the UWV office in your region. You can find a list of the offices (in Dutch) on the UWV website.

Do you want to have your personal data deleted by the UWV? If so, send a letter of request to the UWV, providing:

a description of the personal data to be deleted;
your first name(s) and last name;
the initials of your first name(s);
your address;
your telephone number;
your Burgerservicenummer – BSN (citizen service number);
the date of your request;
your signature.

Send your request by letter to the following address:

It is important to remember the following when sending your request:

always enclose a copy of a valid form of identification with your letter;
your BSN, your name and the expiry date of your identification must be clearly legible on the copy;
mention on the copy of your identification that it is for the UWV.

How your request by letter is handled by the UWV

The UWV will send you confirmation of receipt of your request within 5 working days.

The UWV will try to handle your request within 1 month. What happens if that is not possible? You will be notified of this. You will then receive a response to your request within no more than 2 months.

Authorising someone to view or amend your data

Do you want someone else to manage your online affairs with the UWV? If so, you can authorise that person using your DigiD.
