Requesting a refund of course fees MBO and VAVO
Are you leaving a part-time middelbaar beroepsonderwijs – MBO (secondary vocational) programme? If so, you may be eligible for a total or partial course fee refund. This also applies for some volwassenenonderwijs – VAVO (adult education) programmes. Are you leaving your programme?

Receiving a refund of course fees
If you leave your programme, you can receive a total or partial course fee refund in the following cases:
- You cancel your enrolment before the first day of classes.
- You enrol in a full-day school for the same period for which you paid course fees.
- You become seriously ill.
- You are dealing with special family circumstances. For instance, illness or death of a family member.
You will receive 1/12 of the course fees back for every month that you do not take the course.
If you pass away, your surviving relatives will receive a total or partial course fee refund from the education institution.
Request refund of course fees from school or programme
You can request the course fee refund from the school or programme in which you are enroled.
