If you have student debt from your studies, and you’re currently repaying your loan(s), you can temporarily defer your student loan repayments. For instance, if you want to buy a new home. Or if you want to travel around the world.

Conditions for deferring student loan repayment
Certain conditions apply to deferring your student loan repayments. For instance, you cannot defer repayment for more than 5 years. You will find all of the conditions (in Dutch) on the website of the Education Executive Agency (Dienst Uitvoering Onderwijs, DUO).
Request deferral of student loan repayment
You apply for repayment deferral (in Dutch) to DUO. You will need your DigiD to do this.
