Request compensation related to a student travel pass
If you receive student financing, you are automatically entitled to a student travel pass. This lets you use public transport for free or at a discount. If something has gone wrong with your student travel pass, you may be entitled to compensation, for example, if your credits are not available on time at the public transport card machine.

Conditions for compensation related to a student travel pass
You must meet certain conditions to receive compensation related to a student travel pass. For instance, you must have applied for your student financing on time. On the DUO website you will find the conditions (in Dutch). DUO is the Dutch acronym for the Education Executive Agency.
Request compensation related to a student travel pass
If you are eligible for compensation, you can request this from DUO. Please use the Student travel pass compensation application form (PDF, 149 KB, in Dutch).
Compensation in the event of a public transport strike
Are you a student and have you experienced problems due to a strike in public transport? For example because you had to pay additional travel expenses? Then you can receive compensation.
Did you get affected by a strike by employees of NS (Nederlandse Spoorwegen, Dutch Railways)? Read on the website of the NS what the strike arrangements mean for your situation.
Did you get affected by a strike in regional transport, such as regional buses and regional trains? As a student you can apply for compensation (in Dutch) via the website Studentenreisproduct.nl.
