You can object to the value of immovable property (WOZ value) given in the WOZ decision. Please note that you must submit your objection within 6 weeks of the date on the WOZ decision.

Contacting the municipality

Contact your municipality before you submit an objection. You will find additional information and frequently asked questions on the municipality’s website. You may be able to settle the matter with the municipality (or the tax cooperation partnership) and you won’t need to submit an objection.

Submitting a WOZ objection

The WOZ decision and the municipality’s website explain how to submit an objection to your municipality. Often there is also information about the objection procedure. There is no charge for objecting to the WOZ value.

The municipality’s decision on your objection

The municipality must give a decision by the end of the calendar year in which you submitted your objection. The municipality must comply with certain time limits.

Challenging the municipality’s decision

If you disagree with the municipality’s decision on your objection to the WOZ value, you can submit an application for judicial review to the district court. You will find information about this procedure in the WOZ decision and on the municipality’s website, including which district court to submit your application for review to.
