Help with finding a care home or nursing home

Your regional care administration office can help you find a place in a care home or nursing home nearby. They can help you make your choice. The care administration office must make sure independent client support is available to you.

Applying for a place in a care home or nursing home

You can only get a place in a care or nursing home if you have a care needs assessment for long-term residential care. This assessment is issued by the Care Needs Assessment Centre (CIZ). It states that you are eligible for appropriate care under the Chronic Care Act (WLZ). You do not need a care needs assessment to get a place in a private care or nursing home.
