Taxation enables us to pay for public services, distribute income and incentivise positive behaviours. But the tax and supplementary benefits system is in need of reform. That process will take time. In the meantime, we will be simplifying rules and legislation in order to help people and businesses. Together with the Tax Administration, the Benefits Office and Customs, we will be working every day to deliver good services.
